How To Get To Sesame Street
Quick, without looking below, what are the three primary colors?
Alright, you can look below now. But, like us, you might need to look twice (or just look once and do a double-take) because OK Go are on Sesame Street!
That’s right, our multi-hued heroes make their PBS debut this Thursday, February 2nd. Check your local listings to find out precisely when you can see and hear a new song and video for “3 Primary Colors.” But you can also watch it below, and–if you didn’t answer the above question correctly–school yourself on the primary colors.
Using new music written by OK Go, the video was conceived and directed by Al Jarnow, a pioneer stop-motion animator who made tons and tons of classic educational and experimental short films in the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s for Sesame Street, Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact, and other shows. The Numero Group put out a swell DVD of his collected work a few years ago, as well: Celestial Navigations: The Short Films of Al Jarnow.
My 3 year old son loves this video and song. We’ve watched it about 15 times so far. I showed him other OK Go videos, but this remains his favorite. Naturally.
Awesome posting, I really wait for messages by you.
This is so awesome. I used to love Sesame Street as a kid – this just reaffirms my love!
I love this video! I’m using it in my art class to teach the first graders about colors. Is there an MP3 of the song I can download? I want to play it as they fill in their color wheels and create their flower projects later. Thanks!
